With due regard to the vast protection enjoyed by the brain, behavioral habits can influence it and consequently lead to its degeneration. In this respect, one has to be very conscious and cautious of all factors influencing or having habit formation effects on the individual in our day to day life endeavors so as to ensure the formation and the consequent exhibition of good behavioral habits to enable our longevity on this planet, the earth, which is our mission here.
However, as regards the subject matter, we will be discussing behavioral habits with emphasis on those that have the tendency of damaging the brain. To this effect, the following are habits that have the tendency of causing the brain to degenerate:
BRAIN STIMULATION DURING SICKNESS
This is a situation where the brain of the individual is activated at the expense of the body being sick. This situation is usually exhibited in activities that involve hard working, studying, etc. As a result, the brain decreases in efficiency and effectiveness and may as well damage it.
OVER-INTAKE OF FOOD SUBSTANCES
Regular practice of this behavioral habit (overeating) causes the arteries of the brain to become hardened and thus reduce the will power of an individual.
NON-EXERCISE OF THE BRAIN
It is an undeniable fact of life that, the regular exercise of the brain is a very crucial source of broadening its operational spectrum and ability. The best exercise that the brain can be taken through is critical and problem solving thinking which gets it stimulated to produce intelligible thoughts and actions. The absence of this thought stimulating exercise may cause it to shrink.
NON-ENJOYMENT OF SLEEP
Sleep, which is a routine natural condition of suspending consciousness to get the body recuperated; when not routinely enjoyed by an individual or he or she is deprived of, can have some consequences on the body. In relation to this, when one is deprived from it for a long period, it is going to increase or accelerate the rate of death of brain cells.
PERSISTENCE HIGH INTAKE OF SUGAR
Continual high sugar consumption has interruptional effect on the absorption of protein and other nutrients by the body. This causes malnutrition and may interfere with the development of the brain
CONTINUAL SMOKING
COVERAGE OF THE HEAD WHILE SLEEPING
DEPRIVATION OF BREAKFAST
